8/18/2023 0 Comments Foil covered chocolate eyeballsI couldn’t create such a horrifying-looking treat without a little surprise, so as you bite into them they’ve got a pop of raspberry jam in the middle. They’re no bake (winner) and a deliciously gooey combination of caramelly dates, rich cacao and moreish almond butter. In cake-debrief conversations with Ma (aka the real brains behind this blog) a plan was hatched for a cake with a firm enough structure to support a large spherical shape so watch this space for a large, extra grisly version of these snack-sized eyeballs hopefully coming up soon. The original plan had been for one big eyeball that oozed a suspicious looking (yet tasty) liquid from it’s centre and had sticky, jam covered nerves attached the back of it but after a number of cake attempts and dwindling time I opted for a miniature version instead. I hadn’t been asked to bring along spine-tingling treats but inspiration often comes out of nowhere. These little gems came about after an invite to a friend’s Halloween party in those blissful pre-COVID days. Who knew making and decorating gruesome eyeball-shaped snacks could be so therapeutic? Below is a size guide to help you choose the correct size foils for your project.ģ" x 3" foils work nicely with small truffles and chocolate pieces.Ĥ" x 4" foils fit the chocolate covered cherries as well as the larger truffles.Ħ" x 6" foils fit chocolate molded/dipped sandwich cookies as well as other larger pieces.ĥ 1/4" x 7 1/2" foils are used for your traditional size chocolate bar.Well these were a rather glorious creation. However, we do offer packages of wax papers for caramels and taffies. These foils aren't meant to be used with caramel as they will stick. The 500 packs are also separated with a cardboard between each 125 count. Each foil is interleaved with tissue paper. These are colored/printed on one side and with a silver backing. We carry high quality confectionery foils in a variety of colors and designs.
